I bought three of these for a small business to double there number of work stations. They run XPPro but will be upgrading within a year so the Vista Business upgrade that came with these systems will save them money. My customer is happy and I love happy customers... |

I purchase for a small company. I have purchased 12 of these and 4 of the next step up. Too bad they are gone. I'd keep buying them.
Most of them went to locations that have very modest needs, but some are well used and I've had no problems. I switched to HP from Dell a few years ago mainly for price considerations. Happy I did. I want more of these! |

This computer is a good value for the money. Don't use it for anything over the top but it works well and has presented no problems. Worked great right out of the box. Delivered quickly. |

I received my Compaq c5857 tower last week. With the exception of some damaged install disc, which was corrected in an overnight special delivery, my unit has been smooth sailing ever since. This site has done it again. There's a happy camper here. I highly recommend the Compaq, and this site. 5 Stars across the board. |

PCI
Express - Delivering Dramatically Improved Graphics
Doubling the bandwidth of the AGP 8X graphics bus, the new PCI Express represents
the most profound change to desktop architecture in nearly a decade. PCI
Express replaces AGP, allowing much larger amounts of data to move between
the graphics card and the CPU, and will soon replace PCI expansion slots
as well. The PCI standard allows for a 32-bit bus with a maximum throughput
of 133MB/s. By contrast, PCI Express will run at 2.5GHz. PCI Express is
a two-way serial connection that carries data in packets along two pairs
of point-to-point data lines, compared to the single parallel data bus of
traditional PCI. Gamers will benefit from an incredible upgrade in video
quality with PCI Express, because it will allow for more powerful video

Recovery Media
Most computer systems no longer include "Recovery Media" (Disks or CDs used to restore your computer system to it's factory shipped state). Many do not even include Operating System disks.
This is not specific to systems purchased from any one company, but now standard practice throughout the entire industry.
However, many manufacturers include software on the hard drive that creates recovery media for you. This allows burning your own set of recovery CDs or DVDs - all you need is the blank media.
Inclusion of such a recovery utility varies by manufacturer and model; not all manufactures and models include such a utility. For those that include such a utility we recommend you create your own set of recovery media after completing the Windows installation. In other words, right after you start using your PC!
If you fail to do this and encounter a difficulty in the future you may not be able to properly restore your computer.
Some manufacturers may have physical recovery media available separately for purchase; consult your owner’s manual support information section for additional information. Systems that do not come with a CD/DVD burner may still include Recovery Disks - please check the manufacturer's specs.
